My advice would be for you not to go with him tomorrow.
Let him go with mates so he can find out whether or not its to his liking.

Never been, but have two friends who did their post-grads there. Both speak of the place in glowing terms.

My son went there graduated in 2013. Had a great time. It's a lovely campus and Exeter is a good choice as a University City.

Can't go wrong. Excellent place, very good reputation academically, really nice part of the world and not especially expensive for accomodation. I guess though it partly depends on what alternatives there are if any. Good friend's son went there and loved it.

My mate went there in the early 70's and has lived in Exeter ever since
Used to love going down there to visit and see bands in the Great Hall, some good boozers nearby in them days as well

My mate went there late 80s. He went on to become a barrister. When I knew him he spoke like a cockney, he now speaks like hugh grant.

Congrats on the offer: very nice campus and highly rated academically. Has quite a high intake of public school kids, but then so do a lot of top places.
A lot depends on the subject area, degree structure and what your son wants to do outside of lectures whether it will be the best fit for him, but if he likes it on the Open Day, it's a very good place to go.
OGSjr started at Nottingham this year and absolutely loves it, campus and city life.

Was my 1st choice way back but didn't get the grades and settled for Canterbury.
Very nice campus and town I seem to remember.

Well known as a 'please get me as far away from my parents as possible' campus :)

Fivetide, exactly !!!
That's why I persuaded him to apply as he needs to grow up away from his mother

Exeter is a university that is generally seen as one you go to if you went to public school but didn't have the grades to get into Oxbridge or durham (3rd) or Bristol (4th). So its generally seen as a posh kids dropout place, buy I'm sure its a good laugh and its an employable university.

I went there in the 90s. I've been to and worked in a few universities since.
There is literally nothing bad about Exeter University. He'll have an amazing time and a good education.
